Rakaia Medical Centre

Rakaia, Canterbury

About

The Rakaia Medical Centre is situated just off State Highway 1 on Elizabeth Ave in Rakaia, - 28km from Ashburton and 53km from Christchurch. This building was purpose built by the Ashburton District Council and opened in June 2000. In March 2004 the Rakaia Medical Centre Community Trust was formed. We extended our building at the beginning of 2009, which added another Trauma Room, a Therapy room (for our visiting Professionals), an office and a staff room which makes the Medical Centre twice the size it was. The building is very modern. Our 2 Trauma Rooms are up to date with the latest equipment and our doctors and nurses are fully trained to deal with emergencies and minor surgery. We welcome our regular patients as well as visitors.
