Newzengland Clay Shooting & Archery

About

Our archery and clay bird shooting business is located at Terrace Downs Resort, nestled on the edge of the Rakaia Gorge just 15 minutes from Methven and Mt Hutt, we operate 7 days a week (bookings are essential) in most weather conditions.
Our Mini Olympic Challenge combines clay shooting, archery and golf chipping. A great group activity for friends and family, work colleagues, and hens or stag parties – only one hours drive from Christchurch. We occasionally set up our activities around the Canterbury area for corporate events and community festivals, so don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your idea!
All activities are safe, cater to all abilities and are heaps of fun! Owner Neil is a fantastic instructor (he spent 12 years as a senior instructor at The Royal Berkshire Shooting School in England) and our location is amazing.

Getting here

All Newzengland activities are located at the Terrace Downs Resort which is nestled on the edge of the Rakaia Gorge near Mt Hutt. It is at the Windwhistle end of Coleridge Road, seven kilometres off the Inland Scenic Route (State Highway 72). A note regarding google maps directions from Christchurch to Terrace Downs Resort via Hororata: At Hororata google maps states to take the second exit at the roundabout onto Hororata Rd, turn left onto Downs Road which takes you to Coleridge Road via Windwhistle. Here’s a quicker and easier way to go: At the Hororata roundabout take the first exit, turning left onto Cordys Road which flows onto Leaches Road. Continue following this road until you reach the intersection with stop sign (Highway 77). Go straight across intersection onto Coleridge Road. Terrace Downs High Country Resort is approx. 7km on the left.
