Lake Heron Station

Mt Somers & High Country, Canterbury

About

Lake Heron Station has been farmed by the Todhunter Family for over 100 years. Philip and Anne have continued the tradition of farming the famed merino sheep and are proud wool suppliers to the global brand of Icebreaker.

The station offers a rare opportunity to experience the spectacular surroundings of a family-operated high country farm. A stay in our beautifully restored Lake Heron Cottage or "Fisherman's Hut" combines luxury with a myriad of outdoor experiences.

Tour the station by 4WD, hike, wild swim, fish, or fly with us on a scenic tour - at the day's end you return to the comforts of an open fire and a home-cooked meal. Lake Heron Cottage is exclusively yours for the duration of your visit.
