It was once Methven’s post office, but these days it’s home to a multi award-winning pub that serves some serious Irish grub. Not only that, The Dubliner is also one of the cosiest spots for a cheeky pint across Mid Canterbury! While you smash back a Murphy’s stout pie or the herb-crusted lamb rack, take notice of the historic building’s original features, including the post-master’s lockers.

The Dubliner Irish Bar & Restaurant is owned and operated by Gary & Karen Manning. The building was the old post office and through the redevelopment of the building they retained its original features including the post-master’s lockers and the original bank safe along with some new features including an original NZ post office letter box.

The team work hard to deliver a warm & cosy atmosphere, complemented by great food, music, a great pint of stout and an extensive range of premium beers, wines and spirits. The Dubliner is currently rated 1st of 23 restaurants in Methven on Tripadvisor.
