Brinkley's is a High Country self contained accommodation style resort and conference centre situated in the Alpine heartland village of Methven at the foothills of majestic Mt Hutt.
Brinkley Resort is recognised as one of New Zealand's most popular family winter holiday destinations and also a preferred Conference Centre choice for numerous NZX listed companies.
The Resort is serviced by twelve ski fields as well as direct heli ski activities from our on-site heli pad. Our closest mountain is the world renowned Mt Hutt Ski field which boasts one of New Zealand’s biggest ski areas and some of the longest vertical drops in the South Island.
Other nearby ski fields with excellent natural snow include, Porters, Mt Dobdon, Ohau, Round Hill, Tasman Glacier, Broken River, Mt Lydord, Craigieburn, Mt Cheeseman, Mt Olympus and Temple Basin
We are a two minute walk to the centre of town and the resort is conveniently positioned on the transport route for all mountain bound tour operators.
The resort features a total of 80 self contained apartments comprised of 40 studios and 40 quality two bedroom apartments. Getting here
It will take you just over an hour to reach Methven Village from Christchurch International Airport - Driving south from Christchurch, take State highway 1 to Rakaia. Turn right at the big salmon, stay on the main road and you will drive straight into Methven. Brinkley Resort is the first place you will see on your right as you enter the town limits. Alternatively, take the Inland Scenic Route on SH72 through Horarata and Rakaia Gorge and turn left at the first signpost you see (at Mt Hutt Station) to Methven via the alternative route. You will drive straight into the Main Street of Methven - turn left just after the Mobil Gas Station and follow the road around to the left again. The entrance to the Resort is about a hundred metres on your left just past the paddock with the tame sheep!
Helicopter Transfer Brinkley Resort has a helipad on site and can arrange helicopter transfers from Christchurch or from other locations. Please enquire directly if you are interested and we can provide a price.
